About COTA for Kateri Stalinski

Kateri is the daughter of Luke and Cathy Stalinski.  Born on September 17, 2012, Kateri was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare, life-threatening liver disease with no known cause, and no cure. Kateri underwent Kasai surgery at 11 weeks but unfortunately, the surgery could not help her damaged liver and her doctors have recommended a life-saving liver transplant. Besides travel to hospitals, lost work time, help with caring for her two brothers and other immediate needs, Kateri's family faces a lifetime of challenges and medical expenses, co-pays and related costs. Volunteers have committed to raising $50,000 to help with transplant-related expenses.

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure.  The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.  Volunteers of friends and family are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like Kateri Stalinski in Mclean, IL.

Please spend some time here on Kateri's site and get to know this beautiful little baby and her family, then please consider donating and/or volunteering.
